Mindful Meditation and Aromatherapy
Karen is the founder of Thornhill Meditation & Yin Yoga (meditation for mindful living) which opened in 2007.
Karen has been certified in Meditation instruction (samatha and vipassana) by Bangkok Natural Healing Academy. In the winters of 2016 - 2019 Karen travelled to Thailand to study with monks and master teachers. Her teachings are based on Buddhist principles, and she continues to study under the guidance of her teacher Jess Koffman.
A well as teaching Meditation and mindfulness, Karen is certified in Hatha and Yin Yoga. She teaches Yin Yoga classes on Zoom. These are intimate, gentle classes which include meditation instruction
Karen has also obtained Siam Reiki Level 3 Master certification. She is also a certified aromatherapist (Through Healing Fragrances School of Aromatherapy) and is certified in Reflexology.
Karen’s intention is to make meditation accessible to everyone and to assist her students in achieving a practice that works for them.
Karen also teaches meditation individually in addition to courses several times a year. She has taught in educational establishments including High school’s (both teachers and students), Seneca College, Business corporations and non-profit organizations.
